Friendship illustrated in my way.

I was preparing for my upcoming exam when I came across a post about friendship from my friend’s blog. This issue has particularly raised my concerns and I would like to voice out my thoughts. Firstly, I believe peoples can come close together within seconds and they can part far away within seconds too. Every action comes in a temporal relationship. In case you don’t know what a temporal relationship is, I would explain it in a brief way; i.e. cause and effects.

It has never been hard to bring two different peoples from different environments and with contradicting personalities together. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean that people with same behaviours and personalities don’t get along well. But, what is the most important value in friendship? I reckon it has always been trust between the individuals. Now, my question is what is your main consideration before building up a friendship? What would you prioritise in building up a friendship? It would never run away from the value I described above; trust. Still not convinced? I should provide you with an example. Would you mind sharing your happy or emotional thoughts or feelings with someone that you don’t trust or someone who don’t even trust you? Most peoples and I will think that they will rather turn to someone he/she can trust even though he/she is not my best/close friend. I’m making this statement in a very general consensus.

Many people told me that distance can ruin a friendship. I wouldn’t deny that this is not true but I would argue that distance can also make a friendship stronger and even longer lasting. Problems can occur before, during and after a friendship is established. The severity of the problems does play significant roles in maintaining the trust between two friends (of course friendship could involve more than two individuals if you got lost somewhere when reading my thoughts.) I would probably think that the period(s) of misunderstandings, ups and downs are very important in justifying whether the friendship built worth to be kept or not.

I also strongly believe that there is a mutual friendship between individuals where two individuals don’t have to be close together most of the time. They don’t have to spend most of the time together. They don’t have to talk to each other very often. What exist between them are trust and care. He/she still cares about the other individual and the cares do not have to be expressed. This has gone beyond normal friendship. And of course I’m not talking about relationship. I’m still talking about friendship. Don’t be skeptical and look at friendship in only one way; that is if you and I are closed together, then we are friends. If we are not talking anymore and we are not close together then we are not friends. I would probably think this is ridiculous and foolish if peoples do have this thought. Of course I can’t control what people would like to say because the world is fair and square. Everyone has been given the right to voice. But is he/she the right person to say anything? Is he/she one of the subjects involved in this particular matter? Who is he/she to leave any comment(s)?

Like I said, sometimes, distance and misunderstandings could really make a friendship to become stronger. He/She might still care for you but it doesn’t have to be shown to the whole world. Therefore, separation from each other would be a challenge between them and we as outsiders should not be doing anything than just giving supports to them. It’s really a challenge between them no matter how irrelevant the misunderstanding is. Like I stressed from the beginning of this post, it all evolves from trust. When there is trust, there is friendship. When trust has been ruined and would the friendship be given a second chance? I would rather say it depends on whether a second chance is worth given or not. It’s really a challenge between them and only time will tell.
